Kinland is one of the leading owners of social infrastructure in the Nordic countries, with properties that provide a safe and high-quality environment for daycare and care facilities.
In Finland, the property portfolio is managed by Vesa-Pekka Peltonen, who is responsible for approximately 180 properties. According to him, Hoivarakentajat has proven to be a reliable and high-quality partner.
– The most important thing for us is that the building works. Hoivarakentajat’s properties have been of high quality, and the cooperation has been excellent. This also provides certainty for future acquisitions, says Peltonen.
Log buildings stand out
Kinland’s current property portfolio has largely been formed through the acquisition of larger entities. These include several projects carried out by Hoivarakentajat, which have been well received due to their log construction.
– Log stands out: it looks good, does not need surface coverings, and is structurally very functional. We have received nothing but positive feedback from our tenants, and that is ultimately what matters most, says Vesa-Pekka Peltonen.
Cooperation continues even after the handover
Based on Peltonen's experience, Hoivarakentajat stands out from other builders, particularly in terms of the quality of cooperation and solution-oriented approach. He appreciates the fact that help is always available when needed – even after the warranty period has expired.
– Hoivarakentajat’s project engineers have always been ready to help and find solutions, even if the matter was not directly their responsibility. The cooperation has been straightforward and has inspired trust. The care doesn't end when the house is handed over, but continues further, Peltonen says.
According to him, the defect lists from the latest warranty inspections have been brief, and any issues have been addressed promptly.
– It's been great to see how few issues there are and how the builders are always ready to fix things right away. It shows they have a good spirit at work, says Peltonen.
Looking ahead to future projects
Although sustainability issues have not yet become a particular focus in tenants' requirements, Peltonen appreciates the high energy efficiency of Hoivarakentajat's properties.
– Most of the properties have an excellent energy rating, so we haven’t had to take any additional measures. A good energy rating also looks good in reports, says Peltonen.
He hopes that the cooperation with Hoivarakentajat will continue in the future.
– There is always demand for high-quality care buildings, and it is worth continuing to invest in good properties, Vesa-Pekka Peltonen sums up.
