Hoivarakentajat Oy, specialising in log construction for public-sector care and early childhood education facilities in Finland, grew its revenue by nearly one third and significantly improved its profitability in 2025. The company's outlook for 2026 is exceptionally strong.

Hoivarakentajat delivered its best results in company history in 2025. Revenue grew to a record 42.9 million euros, representing growth of nearly 30 per cent on the previous year. Operating profit rose to 3.2 million euros and return on equity reached 47 per cent.

This growth is exceptional in the construction sector, which has been characterised by a challenging economic cycle and uncertainty in financing markets.

– The year 2025 demonstrates that long-term collaboration with clients and partners, combined with a commitment to responsible construction, delivers results. Our success has been made possible by our focus on the public-sector property market, which is less exposed to economic cycles, and by the trust-based relationships we have built with our clients, says CEO Tarmo Kemppainen.

Strong outlook for 2026 as well

The company's order book is robust, and 2026 is anticipated to be the next record year in terms of volume. Hoivarakentajat expects both revenue and operating profit to continue growing.

– Our outlook for 2026 is very positive. Ongoing projects are already well advanced, and we are in negotiations regarding a significant number of new projects, Kemppainen says.

Long-term client relationships and significant property transactions

During the year, Hoivarakentajat strengthened its position as a partner for both long-standing and new clients. New care homes were completed for Attendo, Humana, Mehiläinen, Tavana and the Autism Foundation of Finland. An agreement was reached with Norlandia for the construction of four new log properties, and three log-construction daycare centres are currently under construction for the City of Vantaa. The company also won its first welfare area competitive tender in the Keski-Uusimaa region.

In the real estate investment market, Lumme Palvelukiinteistöt and Nordiqus together acquired four properties, and a letter of intent was signed with a European investor for the construction of three care properties in 2026. The total value of the portfolio transactions exceeded 30 million euros.

Sustainability guides operations

During the year, the company produced its first comprehensive sustainability programme and commenced construction in accordance with the EU Taxonomy. All capital lease properties are certified under environmental certification schemes (BREEAM/LEED), and the company has also been able to offer carbon-negative construction solutions.
